My Story
I was born in Wisconsin the seventh of eight children in
1951. We are a close family and still enjoy getting together whenever we
can. I went to a private prep school in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin and then
on to the University of Wisconsin at Madison for college. I graduated
from the University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse with a degree in Philosophy
and a minor in Anthropology in 1973. My early career was in the grocery
business and I worked for a company based out of Minneapolis for 11
years, managing grocery stores and then as a personnel manager.
We relocated the family to Raleigh, North Carolina in
1987 and I began working as a financial planner with Waddell & Reed
Financial Services. Over the next 9 years I moved from representative to
District Manager and then on to Division Manager of the Raleigh office.
In 1996 I left W&R to work in the Banking Industry with Triangle Bank. I
was the investment advisor for 5 branches. When our contract with the
bank was severed 1998 I worked as a stock broker for Raymond James.
After two years of working mostly on the phone I
sought out a company that I could associate with locally where I could
be part of a team and joined Verity Asset Management in Durham, where I
worked for another 2 years. In 2002 I started my own company so that I
could have the freedom to choose the products and the people I wanted to
work with.
I have been most fortunate to have worked with many great
people over my career and I look forward to each new encounter as an
opportunity to learn from and teach each other.
My Family
I am a very lucky man to have a lot of wonderful people
in my life and my family are the most important.
Sandy and I were married on July 12, 2003 and we
currently make our home in Durham, just north of the Eno River.

My two Daughters are grown and out on their own. Cristyn
lives in Washington, DC and works for a large consulting firm by day and
does freelance graphic design by night.
Stacy and Cristyn
Stacy is married and lives outside of St. Paul, Minnesota
with her husband Justin and my two grandchildren, Christian and Emma.
The most fun for me is spending time with these very cute and bright
children.
